With the increasing number of corporate partners, certified LGBT business enterprises (LGBTBEs), affiliate chambers and members, it is only fitting that the staff at National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce follows suite.

"With the addition of eight corporate partners all participating in the NGCC Supplier Diversity Initiative, since the new year, it is imperative to meet the needs of our constituents through internal development and growth." said Victoria Fulkerson, Vice President of Corporate Relations & Supplier Diversity.  "By promoting internally and hiring externally we are strengthening our seasoned team at the NGLCC and bringing years of professional experience and a fresh perspective to guide and grow the mission of the NGLCC."

Since LGBT supplier diversity was announced as a scored component on the Human Rights Campaign's annual Corporate Equality Index, many companies with traditionally high scores on the index are maintaining their leadership on LGBT inclusion by expanding the scope of their supplier diversity programs to include certified LGBT Business Enterprises.

"The new roster shows two promotions and three additions to the NGLCC team" said Felicia Powers, Director of Human Resources "Joanna Dees has been promoted to Director, Supplier Diversity & Corporate Relations, as well, Phil Giorgianni has been promoted to Manager Supplier Diversity and Outreach.   The additions bring in talent from across the nation, including: Paul Brown, LGBT Certification Specialist, who made the move from the Arab American Institute; Aisha Hassan, Executive Assistant came to us from Georgetown University; and the new Director of Communications will be Laura Berry, who is coming to us from Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development."

This continued growth for the NGLCC is projected to propel through fiscal 2011.    With the onboarding of 30 corporate partners from fiscal 2010, the focus of corporate America appears to be shifting and expanding diversity and inclusion efforts.

Corporations are able to partner with the NGLCC through the LGBT Supplier Diversity Initiative, Chamber Development Initiative, Financial Services Program and Women's Business Initiative, as well as by becoming a benefits partner, signature event sponsor or a general corporate member.
