To ensure that members of Congress take up the inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act as a priority when they reconvene after the elections, the NGLCC—which is a partner of the United ENDA Coalition—is encouraging its members and allies to talk to candidates and Congress members about ENDA.

"Now is a great time for our members and allies to get out there and remind the candidates and members of Congress about the importance of ENDA," said Justin Nelson, president and co-founder of the NGLCC.

"LGBT people, our families and our allies should use this time before the election to gain commitments to push for a vote on ENDA during the lame duck session in mid November," said Chance Mitchell, co-founder and CEO at the NGLCCC. "Since candidates are looking to please the voters at this critical point in their campaigns, they'll be open to hearing what we have to say about important pieces of legislation such as ENDA."

Scheduling an in-district lobby meeting, attending or hosting a candidate forum and working for an ENDA-supporting candidate's campaign are all ways that NGLCC members and allies can help to get a vote on ENDA sooner rather than later.
