With the nation's capital as the backdrop, this November, the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce® (NGLCC) will bring together two of its most anticipated and highly regarded annual events.
The NGLCC's 2010 National Business Leadership Conference: Out for Business! will be held Nov. 17-20 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., and will include the 2010 National Dinner: An Evening of Courage, to be held at the National Building Museum.
"We are looking forward to offering our members and partners the opportunity to attend these events together," said Justin Nelson, president and co-founder of the NGLCC. "By combining the two, we're hoping that LGBT business owners, affiliate chambers and corporate partners can take full advantage of the programming we have to offer through our conference, and then join us in celebrating the year's accomplishments at the National Dinner—all designed to be the most cost-effective as we collectively continue to get the economy back on track."
As always, the conference will feature engaging keynote speakers, offer thoughtful panel discussions and business symposia, and include first-class special events designed to educate and connect LGBT business owners, allied companies, and NGLCC affiliate chambers with one another. Conference attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear directly from members of Congress and the Obama administration about issues ranging from LGBT equality to health policy and legislation geared at aiding America's more-than 25 million small businesses, many of which are LGBT-owned and operated.
This year, the NGLCC will expand the conference's offerings by asking its members and allies to submit proposals for conference seminars. Out for Business! will feature three presentation tracks aligned to the types of participants attending the conference, and presenters are asked to identify the track that best fits their proposed presentation topic. The tracks are programs for corporate leaders and representatives, business owners and entrepreneurs, and LGBT chambers or business organizations. For more information on becoming a presenter at this year's conference and submitting a presentation proposal, download the Call for Presenters form.
During the conference, LGBT business owners, corporate allies, local chamber leaders, government officials and community leaders will come together for the 2010 National Dinner to recognize courageous women and men in business, government and community activism.
During An Evening of Courage, attendees will have the opportunity to re-connect and network with one another at the pre-dinner Founders & Friends Reception and silent auction. Dinner programming includes honoring the individuals and businesses that are making a difference in the LGBT business movement. Awards to be presented at the event include the NGLCC/American Airlines ExtrAA Mile Award, Chamber of the Year, Courage in Business, Corporation of the Year, Supplier Diversity Advocate of the Year, and the NGLCC/Wells Fargo Business Owner of the Year Award.
Additional information about featured speakers, agendas, and registration for the conference and dinner will be available soon. If you have questions about the events, please contact the NGLCC's events department at events@nglcc.org or 202-234-9181.
