While there is an enormous amount of data available about LGBT consumer behavior, the same cannot be said for LGBT business data. That is, until now.

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce® (NGLCC) has teamed up with Community Marketing, Inc., an NGLCC-certified supplier, to produce the First Annual LGBT Commerce & Enterprise Study, which fills this need and further empowers the LGBT business community.

The goal of the study, which is open for participation through March 31, is to understand the preferences, motivations and purchase habits of LGBT business owners and managers.

"This historic survey will lead to the greatest gathering of LGBT related business data ever complied," said NGLCC co-founder and president Justin G. Nelson. "The findings will be the key to continued growth, development and understanding of the LGBT business community and ensuring decision makers at every level have a deeper and more accurate picture of who we are."

The NGLCC and CMI hope the survey results will be valuable to corporations, LGBT businesses, chamber leaders and others in the LGBT business community, and will help them to better understand the preferences, motivations and buying habits of LGBT business owners and managers.

"This effort will further tell the story of who we are as business women and men," said NGLCC co-founder and CEO, Chance Mitchell.

The survey, which takes about 10 minutes and can be completed online, is open to everyone, regardless of affiliation with an LGBT-owned company. Participants' responses are anonymous, so participants are encouraged to be as honest as possible when providing their answers.

After completing the survey, participants will be entered into a drawing for a $500 Visa gift card, and will be given an opportunity to request a free copy of the report when it is released.
