NGLCC Accepting Nominations for 2010 Diversity and Leadership in Financial Services Awards

The NGLCC will be holding its 2010 Diversity and Leadership in Financial Services Awards dinner Jan. 11 at the New York Stock Exchange.

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) continues to accept nominations for the prestigious 2010 Diversity and Leadership in Financial Services Awards.

On Jan. 11, 2010, the NGLCC will recognize the financial services sector's accomplishments in workplace diversity and leadership at an awards reception and dinner at the New York Stock Exchange.

Another highlight of the event will be a special tribute by the NGLCC to key members of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee and the U.S. House Financial Services Committee for their work to strengthen America's market-based economy.

"It is always an honor to applaud the vital leadership of the financial services community in the areas of workplace and supplier diversity, as well as, culturally competent marketing and the work being done to help LGBT businesses through the economic downturn," said Justin Nelson, co-founder and president of the NGLCC. "And we are especially pleased to be recognizing the critical contributions of members of Congress in securing a more diverse financial services sector."

The Financial Services Diversity Corporation of the Year award will honor a company that has demonstrated an unmatched dedication to ensuring workplace diversity, equitable marketing efforts and inclusive initiatives for LGBT employees, customers and suppliers.

The award for Outstanding Corporate Leader will recognize a corporate leader who has shown commitment and planning in developing innovative programs and resources for inclusion of LGBT employees.

The Program or Initiative of the Year award will highlight a corporate program or initiative that has been effective in bettering the lives and opportunities of internal and/or external LGBT stakeholders.

The Excellence in Outreach and Marketing award will be given to a corporation that stands out for its efforts to include LGBT customers in its marketing strategy, whether for a specific campaign or a firm-wide strategy.

"We encourage all financial services related companies, their LGBT employee resource groups and diversity leaders to apply for one or more of these awards," said NGLCC co-founder and CEO, Chance Mitchell.
