
This coming Monday, January 10, the NGLCC will host its fourth annual Diversity & Leadership in Financial Services Awards at the New York Stock Exchange in New York City, presented by Bank of America and Goldman Sachs.
During Monday night's awards dinner, a consortium of cross-diversity organizations will recognize excellence in cross-segment diversity and inclusion by top companies in the financial services industry. The finalists for the awards are as follows:

This year the NGLCC has added collaborating partners from the U.S.Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Women's Business Enterprise NationalCouncil, the U.S. Business Leadership Network: Disability at Work, theU.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce and the National BlackJustice Coalition, making this the first cross diversity segment eventin the financial services industry.
"Diversity and inclusion should never be about us versus them—itshould be about all of us and what can we accomplish collectively tomove the ball forward for all our communities," said Justin Nelson,NGLCC co-founder and president about inviting collaborating partners toparticipate this year as a part of a new diversity consortium. "That isexactly what this event does."
In addition, the groups will honor Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., for his longstanding commitment to equality for all Americans, consumer protections and fairness in access to capital, insurance and other financial service needs for diverse communities.
Leaders of the NGLCC, collaborating partner organizations and top diversity executives from major financial services companies will meet for a Diversity Executive Roundtable earlier in the day in the NYSE boardroom to discuss cross segment collaboration, corporate best practices and issues of importance to diverse business communities, such as healthcare reform, procurement and access to capital.
At 4:00 p.m. EST, after the roundtable concludes, the organizations will ring the Closing Bell at NYSE. While the NGLCC made history as the first LGBT organization to ring the Closing Bell in 2005, this will be the first time that a group of leaders representing cross segment diversity has rang the bell.
"Our groups represent a collective $8.8 trillion in buying power and it is quite fitting that we band together in one of the most symbolic acts of economic vitality," said Chance Mitchell, co-founder and CEO of the NGLCC.
A reception on the historic NYSE Trading Floor and the awards dinner will follow later that evening.
