The NGLCC's 2011 Diversity & Leadership in Financial Services Awards will be the first cross-diversity event in the financial services sector.
Business advocacy organizations representing a range of diverse segments have been confirmed as collaborating partners for the January 10 event, including the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC), the US Business Leadership Network: Disability at Work (USBLN), the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC), and the National Black Justice Coalition (USBJC).
"As we prepare for the fourth annual awards we're proud to be collaborating with these outstanding organizations for our Diversity & Leadership in Financial Services Awards," said Justin Nelson, president and co-founder of the NGLCC. "These partners in diversity and inclusion represent the many different faces of the business community, and we're thrilled that they will be teaming up with us to recognize the leaders in the financial services industry."
Adding to the importance of this fourth annual event, a diversity roundtable discussion among corporations and the collaborating organizations will be held in the afternoon in the boardroom at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). In addition, the NGLCC and representatives of event collaborating partners, as well as leading diversity companies will then ring the Closing Bell at NYSE.
That evening there will be a reception on the historic Trading Floor of the NYSE at 6 p.m., followed by the awards dinner. Awards will be given to the Financial Service Corporation of the Year, Outstanding Corporate Leader and Program or Initiative of the Year.
LGBT and allied professionals are invited to attend the two hour Trading Floor reception featuring members of Congress and special celebrity guests for only $300. Members of NGLCC and collaborating partners as well as collective corporate members can attend the reception for half price at $150.
In addition to the Trading Floor reception, a limited number of dinner tickets are still available for purchase. To inquire, please email vfulkerson@nglcc.org.
