National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce - Online Resource for LGBT Business

About the Publisher

OmniStudio, Inc., an NGLCC-certified business located in Washington, D.C., spearheaded the creation and design of NGLCC's new BIZ Web site. OmniStudio is a fully integrated communications design firm specializing in public interest branding, publications and Web sites.

A few words about the BIZ site from Eileen Kessler, OmniStudio's president:

The idea for BIZ, NGLCC's online resource for LGBT business news and information, was conceived more than a year ago. OmniStudio had designed and built NGLCC's original Web site. After a review of its interactive communications, we realized it was time to develop a new site, powered with additional content and tools that would connect small business owners to each other, to corporate America and the entire world.

NGLCC founders Justin Nelson and Chance Mitchell embraced our vision of a colorful, content-rich "magazine" site that captured the spirit of NGLCC's diverse membership and its passion for business. We wanted the voices of our community to be heard—literally, with the help of audio and video podcasts—and through first-person narratives written by LGBT business owners, supplier diversity experts and policy advocates.

I believe another goal of the site is to continue the momentum and spirit of the NGLCC's annual meetings online. The site can foster this sense of community by showcasing the wonderful work that individuals, chamber affiliates and sponsoring corporations do throughout the year.

We also see the BIZ site as an ideal place to connect with other NGLCC members, whether they work in your neighborhood, across the country or around the globe. Using the site's interactive tools, savvy LGBT entrepreneurs can develop networking opportunities, discuss ideas, and share best practices and business leads, all with the goal of taking your business to the next level.

Finally, I hope that you will consider NGLCC's sponsors, members and advertisers when you make a decision about where to purchase products or services. These businesses recognize the importance of diversity, and their support enables the organization to grow and serve more people in our community.
