The NGLCC is teaming up with Cirque du Soleil to spread the word about Cirque's new show, OVO, which is currently touring the United States.
As an Associate-Level Sponsor at this year's NGLCC National Dinner: An Evening of Courage, Cirque du Soleil will be offering a special discount on tickets to OVO in the form of vouchers in gift bags to be given out to dinner attendees.
OVO, which debuted in Boston in July, centers on the colorful, biodiversity-filled world of insects. The show follows their lives as they work, eat, play, fight and search for love. The insects are awestruck and curious when an egg inexplicably appears in their midst, as it represents the mysterious cycles of their own lives.
Reminiscent of other Cirque productions with its colorful costumes and energetic performance, OVO is sure to impress audiences of all ages.
"OVO is nothing short of amazing," said Anthony Mancuso, manager of programs and events at the NGLCC. "It's engaging, enchanting and true to Cirque—a visual masterpiece."
OVO began performing in the nation's capital on last Tuesday and will remain in the area until Oct. 3 before moving to Atlanta's Grand Chapiteau in Atlantic Station from Nov. 4 to Dec. 18. OVO is scheduled for 2011 shows in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas, Houston, Texas, Cincinnati, Ohio, Chicago, Ill., and Seattle, Wash.
