It's time again to see how multinational companies stack up against one another on diversity and inclusion issues in the LGBT community.

In attempts to help international corporations implement effective LGBT diversity policies, the International Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce's (IGLCC) 2010 edition of the International Business Equality Index survey will measure how major international corporations include the main issues pertinent to the LGBT community in their policies and practices, and will take into account how these corporations work with LGBT employees, suppliers and consumers.

Unlike other diversity indexes, the IGLCC is the only one that measures performance in multiple countries, which is important to corporations with multinational presence that hope to gain visibility in the LGBT segment worldwide.

UK-based telecommunications company, BT Group, was named the top LGBT-friendly international corporation in the 2009 Index, with IBM and The Dow Chemical Company coming in second and third.

"The results seen with the 2009 Index has already shown that LGBT diversity is here to stay," said Pascal Lépine, founding president and secretary general of the IGLCC. "More than ever it has secured a place in the business world and positive changes are on their way...We are looking forward to seeing exactly how much progress we were able to make since the first Index."

Companies can take the survey online now through the May 15 deadline.

The results and findings of the survey will be presented in a report released during the IGLCC 3rd Annual Congress in Amsterdam June 10.
