Entrepreneurs are known for finding creative, enterprising ways to gather the resources necessary to achieve their goal of building and growing their businesses.
Ernst & Young, one of the NGLCC's founding partners and a leader in the diversity arena, is looking to for nominations to recognize these individuals for its 2011 Entrepreneur Of the Year awards.
For 25 years, the Entrepreneur Of The Year awards have recognized individuals who build the businesses that keep the American economy moving forward, and Ernst & Young is looking to showcase the work of these hard-working men and women once again.
Candidates for Entrepreneur Of The Year must own or manage a private or public company, be chiefly responsible for the recent performance of the company, and be active in top management of the company. Also, to be nominated, a candidate's company must be at least three years old. Companies large and small are eligible to be nominated.
NGLCC noted that the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award is another opportunity to showcase the strong leadership and innovation from LGBT business owners and gives them the opportunity to compete with entrepreneurs from all segments.
"I believe the LGBT business community is among the most innovative, productive and leadership-oriented of all, and I encourage LGBT business owners and managers to take full advantage of this application opportunity," said NGLCC president and co-founder, Justin Nelson.
Anyone can nominate an outstanding entrepreneur, and entrepreneurs are encouraged to nominate themselves. The deadline for nominations is March 18, 2011.
Regional award winners are eligible to participate in Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year national awards, including recognition at a black-tie awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif. on Nov. 12, 2011. National winners from more than 50 countries then compete in the World Entrepreneur Of The Year awards in Monte Carlo in June 2012.
