NGLCC Applauds Senate Passage of Bill Repealing 1099 Provision

  • This week, the United States Senate voted by a margin of 87 to 12 to pass the House version of a bill to repeal the onerous provision in the healthcare reform law that would require small businesses to file 1099 forms for all vendors with whom they spent over $600 in one year. The bill is now on its way to President Obama, who has previously said publicly that he is in favor of repealing the provision. The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) is among the strongest supporters of repealing this provision.

NGLCC Participates in Launch of U.S. Department Of Labor's New Job-Seeking Tool

  • The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce recently participated in the launch of the U.S. Department of Labor’s new online job seeking tool, My Next Move. Through a conference call with the NGLCC and other vested parties, Secretary Hilda L. Solis, Department of Labor, discussed the benefits this new online tool will have for jobseekers, including unemployed members of the LGBT community.
