The NGLCC is thrilled to announce the addition of 14 corporations in the last two quarters—including the NGLCC's first automotive industry partner and its second and third national legal partners—bringing the total number of NGLCC corporate partners to more than 120.
"We are thrilled to have these corporations join in a partnership with the NGLCC," said Victoria Fulkerson, vice president of supplier diversity and corporate relations at the NGLCC. "Having these well-known and respected corporations back the NGLCC and its goal of diversifying the supply chains of corporate America says a lot about each company, and we couldn't be happier to welcome them to our family of corporate partners."
The new additions, which cover the gamut of major-player industries in today's corporate market, include Automatic Data Processing (ADP), American International Group, Inc. (AIG), Ameriprise Financial, CVS Caremark, Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith, Genentech, Harrah's Entertainment, HBO, Kaye Scholer LLP, Lincoln Financial Group, NBC Universal, RBC Wealth Management, Target and Toyota Financial Services.
"The fact that we have corporations from all types of industries just goes to show that corporate America is really stepping in the right direction when it comes to corporate responsibility," said Justin Nelson, NGLCC co-founder and president.
All of the corporations are also new corporate participants in the LGBT Supplier Diversity Initiative.
"HBO's partnership with the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce reaffirms our commitment to diversity and the LGBT community," said Piero Ruffini, director of strategic sourcing at HBO. "The NGLCC provides an avenue that allows us reach out and build a more inclusive supplier base."
Since LGBT supplier diversity was announced as a scored component on the Human Rights Campaign's annual Corporate Equality Index, many companies with traditionally high scores on the index are maintaining their leadership on LGBT inclusion by expanding the scope of their supplier diversity programs to include certified LGBT Business Enterprises.
By working with the NGLCC through its LGBT Supplier Diversity Initiative, companies gain access to tremendous opportunities for networking, education and engaging potential LGBT suppliers certified by the NGLCC.
Corporations are able to partner with the NGLCC through the LGBT Supplier Diversity Initiative, Chamber Development Initiative, Financial Services Program and Women's Business Initiative, as well as by becoming a benefits partner, signature event sponsor or a general corporate member.
