Sherri Macko, manager for supplier diversity at American Airlines and committed ally, has been recognized for her diversity efforts by DiversityPlus magazine.
Selected as one of just 25 Champions of Diversity out of 102 nominees, Macko has demonstrated great leadership and skill in motivating supplier diversity at American Airlines.
"Sherri has been a committed leader in supplier diversity efforts, and continues to go above and beyond the call of duty to support diversity within her organization," said Justin Nelson, co-founder and president of the NGLCC.
Those selected as Champions of Diversity increased their firms' diversity spends, have been responsive to the needs of diverse suppliers and implemented important best practices and benchmarking standards to boost their companies' supplier diversity programs.
The 2010 Champions of Diversity awards represented the fourth year that DiversityPlus has given out the awards, and there are more nominees each year-this year there was a 23-percent increase in the number of nominees.
