The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce® is pleased to announce changes in the leadership of its Procurement Council.

The former vice chair of the NGLCC's Procurement Council, Theresa Harrison, supplier diversity lead in strategic sourcing at Ernst & Young, has been elected the council's new chair. Carol Attak, U.S. supplier diversity program coordinator at Accenture, was elected vice chair of the council.

"Theresa and Carol create a dynamic and innovative leadership team. They will build upon the strong foundation of inclusive corporate procurement practices which the NGLCC Procurement Council has fostered thus far," said NGLCC president and co-founder, Justin Nelson.

The NGLCC Procurement Council is an advisory group consisting of supplier diversity leaders from the NGLCC's network of corporate partners.

Harrison—who is replacing Irwin Drucker, program director of GLBT and international programs and supplier diversity for IBM Global Procurement—has been an active leader in all Procurement Council activities. She has been a true leader in the NGLCC's many programs, including the Supplier Diversity Initiative, the LGBT Business Enterprise scholarship and mentor programs, and the NGLCC's regional and national events.

"I am excited to maintain the high energy level of the NGLCC Procurement Council in order to continually expand opportunities for LGBT-owned businesses and build fully inclusive corporate supply chains," Harrison said.

Attak has regularly served as a panelist for NGLCC conference events and teleconference calls, and has educated corporations and small businesses about the benefits of LGBT supplier diversity certification.

"I feel honored to be selected to serve as the vice chair of the NGLCC Procurement Council and look forward to working with all members to help ensure the success of the NGLCC Supplier Diversity Initiative," Attak said.
