
In the last BIZ survey, we asked you how you're using social-networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in your business. The results are in!
Of those who answered, 100 percent reported using social-networking tools in their businesses. As their name suggests, 100 percent of respondents use them for networking purposes. About 94 percent reported using social-networking tools for marketing, and about 61 percent said they use the tools for communicating with clients.
The most popular social-networking tool among responding businesspeople seems to be Facebook, with about 95 percent reporting using the site. About 84 percent reported using LinkedIn, and about 74 percent are using Twitter.
Most people said they find using social media to be useful for increasing visibility for their businesses and for increasing traffic to their businesses' Web sites. Many said they found the tools useful for selling their company's products or services, and for improving communications both within and outside of their businesses.
As far as the impact of using these social-networking tools, about 81 percent of respondents said they have received more inquiries about their products and services, and have increased the connections between themselves, their businesses and their clients. Additionally, 75 percent also reported receiving more recognition within their communities as a result of utilizing social media in their businesses.
