Manuel Gonzalez holds management responsibilities covering Regional Market Growth Strategies and Term Lending groups for Wells Fargo Business Direct.

As head of Regional Market Growth Strategies, Gonzalez and his team work with Wells Fargo’s regional stores and business bankers to promote Business Direct’s small business credit solutions, including lines of credit, credit cards, business real estate financing and term loans. The team manages the division’s relationship with the regional bank (stores and business bankers), provides sales coaching, develops integrated strategies, plans and programs and communicates product developments and key marketing initiatives to deliver a seamless customer experience and drive sales and revenue growth.

As business manager for the Term Lending group, Gonzalez is responsible for strategic development and oversight on portfolio and profit growth as well as product management, new product development, customer acquisition, customer management, marketing and pricing. The Term Lending group provides small business owners with secured and unsecured loans up to $100,000 including Equipment Express® and BusinessLoan®.  

Gonzalez has 22 years in the financial services and healthcare industries and has managed many areas and functions including strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, accounting, financial planning and analysis, system implementations and sales and marketing support. He joined Wells Fargo in 2001 as division finance officer and vice president.  

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Gonzalez held senior management positions in finance at Citibank and The Associates Financial Corporation including consumer and commercial lending segments, both domestic and international. Gonzalez also served as vice president of Strategic Analysis and Finance for The Center for HealthCare Services in San Antonio, Texas.

Gonzalez holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Gonzalez is also a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.

Gonzalez currently resides in San Francisco.
