A third generation member of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Walter Schubert has extensive knowledge and experience in securities transactions at all levels. He began his career in 1978 as an order clerk on the NYSE. Today, in addition to the Gay Financial Network Inc., Schubert is Chairman and CEO of Schubert Group International Ltd., SGI Ltd., a member firm of the NYSE and NASD, specializing in institutional information architecture and order execution in publicly traded equity issues. The firms’ clientele are global, originating not only from the U.S., but also the Far East and Europe.

Recent distinctions include recognition by Out magazine as one of the "People Who Rocked in 1998" and by Silicon Alley Reporter as one of the top 100 Internet executives for 1998 and 1999. He has also been profiled as one of "50 New Yorkers to Watch in 1999" in the New York Daily News.

Schubert is currently active with many non-profit organizations including the Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, PFLAG and the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, where he has recently been elected to the Board of Directors.
