Marcus Markle
Fellow, Supplier Diversity
As the Supplier Diversity Initiative Fellow at the NGLCC, Marcus facilitates the certification process for LGBTBEs. He is also developing the Young Entrepreneurs and Professionals Council program to open dialogue between emerging businesses and seasoned entrepreneurs in a mentorship capacity.
Prior to joining the NGLCC, Marcus worked as a professional educator in his native state of California, implementing dynamic, rigorous curricula to over 300 students and guiding disadvantaged youth toward success. He helped effect educational change in various high-need settings, such as the Mission District of San Francisco, East Oakland, Northeast Los Angeles, and Morgan Hill.
Marcus obtained his California Secondary Education Teaching Credential in English Language Arts, MA in Education, and his BA in Medieval English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. At Berkeley he had the opportunity to study abroad in France and Scotland where he worked on decoding medieval manuscripts.
