Felicia Powers
Administrative & Programs Coordinator
Felicia Powers

Felicia is the Administrative & Programs Coordinator for the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). Felicia spends much of her time on the NGLCC Women's Business Initiative (WBI) and the LGBT Real Estate Specialist Certification (LGBTRES) program. Additionally, Felicia is responsible for executive scheduling, travel arrangements, correspondence, related press statements, and support of the NGLCC meetings and events team. Felicia is also responsible for the NGLCC Intern Program. Felicia joined the NGLCC as a fulltime team member after interning with the organization during the fall term of 2006.

Prior to coming to the NGLCC, Felicia worked in retail management at Borders, Books and Music for eleven years. During that time, she rose from entry level management to running a seven million dollar multi-format store as General Manager. In those eleven years, Felicia gained valuable experience in leadership, management, customer service, home office liaison and communications. Felicia's store was the first in her district to receive the "Store of the Month" award. Prior to that, Felicia taught Latin (yes, Latin!) to middle-school and high-school students for nine years. During her tenure, she was promoted to the Head of the Classics Department. Throughout these years, as both teacher and manager, Felicia traveled extensively, studying Italian and Greek ruins, and opening Borders stores throughout the US and in Brighton, England.

Felicia holds an MA in Classical Studies from Villanova University and a BA in Political Science and Latin from Dickinson College. She lives in Bowie, MD with her wife, Emily, their orange cat, Mozart, and their Basset Hound, Dudley.
