Internship Opportunities
The NGLCC is currently seeking (5) interns to assist the growth of various initiatives during the summer of 2008.

Qualifications:
* Enthusiasm and dedication toward advancing the LGBT movement
* Willingness to learn about and become engaged in a cutting-edge aspect of the LGBT movement
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
Students with a background in business, or an interest in joining the business world after graduation, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Selection is based on an application (including cover letter and resume) and an interview.
Programs Internship
Assist staff in coordination and development of programs, including the Women's Business Initiative and LGBT Real Estate Specialist (LGBTRES) certification program among others. Also, a keen interest in grassroots development and the LGBT business movement, and research and communication skills are a plus.
LGBT Supplier Diversity Internship
The Supplier Diversity Initiative is a unique program which certifies LGBT owned businesses and work to integrate them into the supply chains of Fortune 500 companies (our Corporate Partners). The intern will be assigned highly substantive work which will include: Outreach toward certified and potentially certified businesses, working with our Corporate Partners to assist in searching our certified supplier database, and development of policies and procedures for expanding the program.
Affiliate Relations Internship
Assist in the coordination of the NGLCC's grassroots efforts and the coordination of the Council of Chambers and Business Organizations (CCBO). The CCBO is made up of representatives from each of the NGLCC's 50 affiliate chambers from across the United States and around the world. The internship would also include coordination of a monthly newsletter to chamber leaders, as well as other information collection and dissemination.
Communications Internship
This internship is a great place to start if you have an interest in pursuing the communications/PR field. Substantive duties will include writing press releases and newsletter articles, developing and maintaining an archive of press clippings, development of web content, and communications support for various NGLCC programs and initiatives. The communications intern should be innovative and creative, ready for a challenge, and comfortable with using some basic business jargon.
Events Internship
The events intern will assist the Meetings & Events team in planning and organizing NGLCC events. Soliciting for silent auction items, coordinating conference speakers and sessions, outreach to local and national organizations and creating marketing materials are just a few of the areas that the Events Intern can make an important impact. In addition, the intern will assist the department with updating and maintaining media tracking, periodic updates to the NGLCC website, conduct research to collect industry data and statistics, format, produce and distribute internal and external correspondence (letters, memos etc.), and assist with department filing and record keeping.
