NOVEMBER 19, 2007 (Washington, DC) Today the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) announced that it is hosting NGLCC’s Wall Street Tribute to House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank on Monday, December 3, 2007 at the New York Stock Exchange. The event will be presented by Goldman Sachs, Citi and Bank of America.

“We are celebrating the Chairman’s leadership and commitment to diversity in financial services,” said NGLCC co-founder and President Justin Nelson. “Chairman Frank has not only been an insightful and courageous leader on financial services and housing policy, he is a giant among giants in pushing equal opportunity for all,” Nelson continued.

The NGLCC noted that Chairman Frank’s deep commitment to his constituents and the industries over which he has jurisdiction, as well as his historic position as the first openly gay Member of Congress to chair a full committee as major reasons for the Tribute. “Whether the areas are banking, insurance, real estate, assisted housing, securities, or equality, Chairman Frank has been a judicious, pragmatic and prudent advocate,” said NGLCC co-founder and CEO Chance Mitchell. “He consistently brings those values to his role as Chairman,” added Mitchell.

In addition to the Presenting Sponsors, a wide variety of organizations and corporations are also sponsoring the evening, including UBS, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, American Express, Wells Fargo, Wachovia, Morgan Stanley, the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, American Bankers Association, and several others.

The NGLCC also noted that the evening will begin with a cocktail reception on the NYSE Trading Floor at 6:30 PM with dinner in the NYSE Club to follow. Interested parties should contact the NGLCC headquarters at 202.419.0440 for more information.
