(January 13, 2010) Washington, DC-The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) has promoted Felicia Powers to Manager of Office Administration and Human Resources. Powers has been with the organization since interning in the Fall of 2006 and has been a paid staff member since January 2007. She has served as executive team assistant, office manager and supplier diversity manager.
In her new role, Powers is responsible for design and implementation of office policies, office-wide management of technology and equipment, assigning and monitoring administrative functions, new employee orientation, and maintaining overall office efficiency. “Felicia embodies the definition of team player and I am confident she will shine in her new position,” said NGLCC co-founder and president Justin Nelson.
"I am thrilled to be in this role and look forward to the many challenges it will afford me," Powers said. In addition, Powers is now responsible for the NGLCC Internship Program. “She is a people person plain and simple. Having her head up the internship program is good for us and it’s good for those seeking to intern at the organization,” said NGLCC chief of staff and director of affiliate relations Kate Karasmeighan.
“Felicia has been a valued member of the team since her arrival and we are more than pleased that she is taking on this new role,” said NGLCC co-founder and CEO Chance Mitchell.
