NGLCC Joins AARP, NFIB, Business Roundtable, SEIU and Others in Divided We Fail Coalition
Healthcare Affordability, Long-Term Financial Security Focus of NGLCC Agenda
Washington, DC – Today, the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) joined the nation’s leading consumer, business, labor and community organizations when NGLCC executives signed the platform of the Divided We Fail Coalition. The NGLCC joined the effort to make access to quality, affordable health care and long-term financial security top issues in the national political debate.
“The Divided We Fail Coalition encapsulates the NGLCC’s political agenda. We know that access to affordable healthcare and financial security are two of the most important issues to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) business community - - in fact the business community at large - - and we are proud to be working with organizations like the AARP, the National Federation of Independent Business, Service Employees International Union and the Business Roundtable to ensure the issues most important to our members are being addressed in a real and meaningful way by leaders on Capitol Hill,” said Justin G. Nelson, Co-Founder and President of the NGLCC.
Divided We Fail works to engage the American people, elected officials and the business community to find broad-based, bi-partisan solutions to the most compelling domestic issues facing the United States.
“The NGLCC is committed to representing the LGBT business community’s issues and interests on Capitol Hill,” said Chance Mitchell, Co-Founder and CEO of the NGLCC. “This partnership with other Divided We Fail organizations ensures we are able to do that in the most effective way possible,” Mitchell concluded.
