NGLCC Praises the Creation of LGBT Equality Caucus in US House of Representatives
Last week, the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) praised the creation of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Equality Caucus in the United States House of Representatives. The bipartisan Caucus, chaired by Representatives Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Barney Frank (D-MA), has 52 members and is the first such caucus to be created with the express purpose of advancing equal rights for LGBT people and repealing discriminatory laws.
The LGBT Equality Caucus will also serve to educate Members of Congress, their staffs and the public on issues of importance to the LGBT community. “It is clear that history is being made along with the LGBT Equality Caucus,” said Justin Nelson, President and Co-Founder of the NGLCC.
“We look forward to the work the Caucus does and to serving as a resource regarding LGBT business issues for the Caucus as well as with the broader Congress as we move forward,” said CEO and Co-Founder Chance Mitchell.
