Today the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) announced strong support for Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez to lead the U.S. Department of Labor and called on the U.S. Senate to move quickly in confirming him as Secretary.

NGLCC Signs On to Amicus Brief to Advise Supreme Court on DOMA Impact

Washington, D.C. (02/27/13) – The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and 277 other organizations, businesses, cities, and employers have submitted an "amicus" brief in the Supreme Court today to advise the Court in the landmark case United States v. Windsor, which will review the ruling by a court of appeals that the federal Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional.

NGLCC Applauds President Obama’s LGBT Inclusion in Immigration Reform

President Barack Obama made it clear at his inauguration that this nation’s journey is not complete until we are all equal. Indeed, we extend that meaning not just to our lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) brothers and sisters, but also to the millions of undocumented people in this great nation. On behalf of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, we congratulate President Barack Obama on his proposed plan to reform immigration policy, which includes provisions for both business owners and for LGBT bi-national couples.

NGLCC Encouraged By President Obama’s State of the Union Address

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) was heartened by the strong plan for growing our economy delivered by President Obama in last night’s State of the Union address. We applaud President Obama for calling on Congress to increase innovative tools and explore commonsense tax reform to fuel the small business engine of our continued economic recovery.
