NGLCC Celebrates 15 Years at 2017 National Dinner Gala

Washington, DC - NGLCC, the business voice of the LGBT community, marked fifteen years of creating LGBT business success and opportunity at the 2017 NGLCC National Dinner, held in Washington, D.C. on Friday, November 17, 2017.  Bristol-Myers Squibb and IBM were the presenting sponsors of the gala, which was hosted at the National Building Museum.
 

NGLCC Renamed “National LGBT Chamber of Commerce”, Reaffirms Mission as Business Voice of the LGBT Community

Washington, DC – The business voice of the LGBT community, formerly known as the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, has announced that the organization will formally shorten its name to its acronym “NGLCC” and be known as the, “National LGBT Chamber of Commerce.” This change, which is accompanied by an organizational visual rebranding, moves to better include the bisexual and transgender members of the LGBT business community for which NGLCC has fiercely advocated over the past 15 years.

Washington, DC – The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the business voice of the LGBT community, vehemently opposes the recent positions taken by the Trump Administration declaring that government agencies, private businesses, and other entities have a right to discriminate against LGBT people.  Such a directive is not just a state-sanctioned and taxpayer-funded attack on LGBT Americans, but also on women’s access to healthcare, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable communities.

NGLCC Statement Condemning Charlottesville, VA Attack

NGLCC released the following statement in condemnation of the attack against Americans in Charlottesville, Virginia:

“The NGLCC and our allies in business will not remain silent in the face of attacks on America’s diverse communities. Charlottesville must be a wakeup call that we cannot ignore the hatred that exists against Americans based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, ability, and more. Diversity is the lifeblood of this nation, and celebrating our diversity is essential for our moral and economic wellbeing.

Wells Fargo and NGLCC Award $67,500 to Affiliate LGBT Chambers of Commerce

Washington, D.C. – The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the business voice of the LGBT community, awarded 15 grants to local affiliate LGBT chambers of commerce on August 3 at the 2017 International Business & Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation and administered by NGLCC, these grants are targeted towards programs that foster the development, growth, and sustainability of certified LGBT Businesses Enterprises® (LGBTBEs®).
