Washington, D.C. -- The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the business voice of the LGBT community, applauds the ruling by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) that discrimination based on sexual orientation violates existing civil rights regulations based on gender.

The justices have affirmed what a bipartisan majority of Americans have come to understand: the freedom to marry is a  constitutional right that is guaranteed to all Americans.

National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Stands with Wells Fargo as Financial Institution is Targeted for Its Work for Equality

WASHINGTON, D.C.—June 9, 2015—The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, the business voice of the LGBT community, called upon LGBT-certified businesses and other supporters to applaud the work of Wells Fargo to promote equality, especially as the financial institution faces criticism.
 
The criticism comes from Franklin Graham, who has asked followers to boycott Wells Fargo after the bank featured a lesbian couple in an ad. He is also closing the Well Fargo accounts of his father’s ministry.

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) joined the global LGBT community in honoring the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia on May 17, 2015. NGLCC Urges Texas Lawmakers to Halt Anti-LGBT Bills

 
The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce is alarmed by the large number of anti-LGBT bills currently working through the Texas legislature. These discriminatory laws will hurt all Texans, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity. Discrimination is toxic to a thriving business climate, because it hampers innovation and scares away investment.  NGLCC urges Texas’ lawmakers to scuttle these bills, both for the wellbeing of Texas’ LGBT community and for the economic vitality of businesses in the state.
