The NGLCC held it's 6th Annual Business and Leadership Conference: Out for Business, in Seattle, WA, May 28-30, 2009. The three-day event included a series of business symposia, keynote speakers, panel discussions and special events designed to educate and connect attendees. Various tracks of programming were designed to meet the interests and needs of LGBT business owners and entrepreneurs, allied companies and NGLCC affiliate chambers from around the country.
The Out for Business Conference also connected local and national LGBT businesses with NGLCC's corporate partners for contracting opportunities. NGLCC Corporate Partners include companies such as Aetna, American Airlines, Ernst & Young, IBM, Intel, JPMorgan Chase, Merck, Motorola, UPS, Wells Fargo and the Wyndham Hotel Group, just to name a few. The NGLCC is the business advocate and direct link between LGBT business owners, corporations, and government. The NGLCC represents the interests of an estimated 1.4 million LGBT businesses and entrepreneurs. Seeking new opportunities for community advocacy, specifically in the economic arena, the NGLCC was founded as the exclusive organization for certification of LGBT owned businesses, and works to foster mutually beneficial opportunities for small businesses and corporate members.
