The Path to the Platinum Circle with TierPM
With over 1100 Certified LGBTBE® suppliers, NGLCC represents businesses with a wide range of capabilities, sizes, and revenues. A few Certified LGBTBE® companies within the NGLCC network have grown to a size that allows them to not only be Certified LGBTBE® companies but also take on many of the responsibilities of NGLCC corporate partner. With revenues of $4M or greater, these Certified LGBTBE® suppliers both supply goods and services as a Certified LGBTBE®, but also engage with other Certified LGBTBE® companies in procurement opportunities.
Having experienced both sides of the procurement experience, these Platinum Circle Certified LGBTBE® suppliers are role models, mentors, and leaders in the NGLCC network and fulfill a unique role within the LGBT business community, bringing the voice of the LGBT business owner to NGLCC's corporate councils.
Certified LGBTBE® TierPM has made it a goal to enter the NGLCC Platinum Circle as the company continues to grow. TierPM Managing Partner Mark Winner shared a look into TierPM's growth and why he thinks it is important for TierPM to enter the NGLCC Platinum Circle.

1. What is TierPM?
TierPM specializes in project-based IT consulting solutions - helping businesses of all sizes efficiently manage their technology initiatives. We assist businesses by planning, implementing and executing complex technology and application development projects. Our experienced IT project management team works to define and scope the appropriate project solution to meet organizational technology needs. Once a project has been scoped and defined, TierPM can also project manage the delivery of the project either utilizing existing teams or staffing the project utilizing TierPM project management and technical resources. With both on-demand resources and “big picture” strategies, TierPM works as an extension of our business client’s teams to help meet organizational enterprise technology needs.
2. What makes TierPM different from other IT consulting companies?
TierPM distinguishes itself in the IT consulting and PM market as a partner who not only provides staffing and people for high level IT projects but also provides and executes the solutions themselves. We partner directly with our clients as an extension of their own team and drive projects to completion helping to manage the scope, budget, and expected outcomes.
3. How would you characterize TierPM’s growth since becoming certified through NGLCC?
As a Certified LGBTBE® for the last 5 years, we have seen our revenues grow substantially year over year since our inception in 2013. When we joined NGLCC, our revenue was less than $250K, and we finished FY 2018 at a revenue of over $3M. This incredible growth was in large part from contracts with NGLCC Corporate Partners.
4. TierPM has a stated goal of wanting to become part of NGLCC’s Platinum Circle. Why is this important to your business?
We want to be recognized within the top group of Certified LGBTBE® diverse business that has shown significant revenue growth in the millions as well as highlight our business relationship with NGLCC Corporate Sponsor Anthem which has been instrumental in our growth and reaching over $3M in revenues for 2018. This relationship has allowed us to join a unique group of Certified LGBTBEs® to become NGLCC Corporate Partners ourselves for 2018 and now again in 2019.
5. How has being a Certified LGBTBE through NGLCC impacted your business?
Being a Certified LGBTBE® has helped TierPM by providing us with access to an incredible network of people interested in helping our business grow as well as connecting us with contacts and opportunities to meet with business leaders all across the country who support Certified LGBTBE® companies. We currently have a strong working relationship with NGLCC Corporate Sponsor, Anthem and have been able to use that experience to expand our business. TierPM is also members of local NGLCC chambers, 3RBA, RBA, Keystone & MDGLCC. TierPM Managing Partner, Mark Winner is also on the Board of Directors for the 3RBA.
6. What advice would you give to an LGBT person starting a business?
I would encourage any new LGBT business to network and lay a foundation within their own local LGBT community. Look into becoming a Certified LGBTBE® through NGLCC. The best way to do this is by joining your local NGLCC affiliate chamber and meet other Certified LGBTBE® companies. Participate in local chamber events, training sessions and look for opportunities to get yourself and your company known. Look for mentoring opportunities within the chamber: these are great opportunities to learn from other similar people and companies about how they were able to grow their businesses as well as provide you with some helpful tips to put you on the right path.
